Women's Ministry Summer Bible Study

Womens Summer Bible Study
I just wanted to let all of you know since we had such a great time last summer, we are planning on doing a summer drop-in style Women's bible study open to all women! Tanya Wyma and Karen Rissmann will be facilitating the study and it will meet in the church courtyard (unless it rains and we will move inside) on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:15 a.m. starting June 7. The study we will be doing is a Fruit of the Spirit on Peace. Jennie is working hard at finding childcare as we plan on having it available for anybody who would like to participate. Please invite anyone you think might be interested. We will make books available for pick up at Lifeway, but please feel free to come any if you haven't picked up a book. To help us accommodate book orders and childcare numbers please contact Kara at evan42dk@yahoo.com if you have need of either or if you have questions

OIn Sunday, May 23, Pastor Keith begins a series of three messages titled "What I believe." The messages will teach the basics of the Christian faith as summarized in first question and answer of the Heidelberg Catechism (May 13 & 20, June 10). Pastor Steve is preaching on Pentecost Sunday, May 27. Kari is preaching on June 3. On Father's Day, June 17, Pastor Keith begins a series of eight messages on the petitions of the Lord's Prayer.

Adult Education
	Our adult education leaders transform Sunday morning at Whitworth Church into a quality Christian learning conference with several seminars to choose from. Leaders include experts in the fields of theology, discipleship, biblical scholarship, and practical Christian living. In fact, quality adult edication is a distinctive of our church.

Groups for Growing
	Whitworth Church has numerous growth groups for men, women, singles, college students, couples and people of all generations. Growth Groups are the primary way we help one another live and grow as disciples. Sign up for one today with the link below.

Groups for Serving
	Serving in ministry is a service to God and man as an obedient servant. A Christian servant ministers to God and man in acts of love. Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another (1 John 4:11).God is doing amazing things through the communities at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church. There are currently over 70 groups for growing and serving.

Mens Ministry
	Men's Ministry is in active pursuit of men in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God's man in Christ.

Womens Ministry
	The Women's ministry at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church is for women of all ages and stages of life. There are several opportunities to meet weekly for small group Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.

Parents
	If you ask yourself, “How can I grow as a parent and strengthen my family’s relationship with Christ and other families?” you’re asking a great question! Did you know individuals primarily gain their faith through their family?

College
	WCPC more than welcomes college students. In fact, college students are a regular part of our church life as we embrace our close relationship to Whitworth University. If you are a Whitworth student, a student from another school, or a college-age career person, we would love to have you be involved in every area of our church life.

Alpha
	Alpha is a short, practical introduction to the Christian faith suitable for Christians and for those wanting to investigate Christianity. It includes eleven weekly sessions and a weekend retreat. This inspirational retreat is a key part of the course, as well as being great fun.

Prayer
	We are a congregation of prayer. Several prayer gatherings take place throughout the week at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church (WCPC). Additionally, Growth Groups and many other ministries have a special emphasis on prayer. Our prayer chain and our Tuesday evening Concert of Prayer group are highlights of the prayer ministries at WCPC.

Open	Sunday Mornings and special services of worship
Ushers provide for the hospitality needs of the worship services. Ushers greet and help to seat people; partake in collecting the offering; and assist in other ways that may be needed.
Usher Captain ( Frank Ide )
Open	One month per year
The WCPC ushers are an essential part of the worship service. Usher Captains engage in leadership for one month. They schedule ushers (from an established group list provided)for one service time, each Sunday, for one full month, and they lead their team those Sundays assuring a protected environment of worship. Resources and training are provided by the Usher Coodinator.

This is a new outreach ministry for elementary age children that begins this fall. It involves playing basketball and learning about Christ. We need volunteers to help greet players and their parents when they come into the church. If you have a few extra hours a week from October – February. Not only will you help change a child’s life, you will have a lot of fun doing it!

We are looking for volunteers to help in the front office on Wednesday & Thursday afternoons to answer phones and help with light office duties. Some keyboarding and phone experience is helpful, but we are willing to train.
Bell Choir ( John Wilson )

Chancel Bells Rehearsal have begun in Tiffany Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. If you would like to learn to play the handbells, please come and join us.

Open	1 hr a week for 7 weeks
Body Builder stands for Body of Christ, Builders of Community. The purpose of the Body Builder is to glorify God by providing gentle guidance and direction for new members as they assimilate into this congregation. Body Builders facilitate small groups with the Connections Class, getting to know and becoming known by our newest members.

Share your talents and gifts through the WCPC Worship Ministry. Along with the Sanctuary Choir and the Chancel Hand Bells, we have a variety of vocal and instrumental solos and small groups offering their music to the Lord during the Traditional Worship services. The Sanctuary Choir rehearsals began Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. Please come and join us to sing your praises to our wonderful God!

We are looking for people to commit to one or two times per month (for approximately one hour) to operate the powerpoint during the 8:45 contemporary worship service on Sunday mornings.
Greeters/Team Leaders ( Larry McDonald )

The Greeter Ministry provides the welcome smile and warm handshake to each worshiper on Sunday mornings something we all need and appreciate! The team of on -call greeters is coordinated by team leaders. This ministry is great for those who love to welcome others and extend hospitality.

Open	Friday Mornings 6:30 - 7:30 am
This Bible study led by Kathy Sandusky, ranges in age from college students to grandmothers. It is an informal group, allowing for discussions, prayer and support. All women are welcome.
Fellowship Hour Hosts ( Larry McDonald )

The Fellowship Hour Ministry prepares for and maintains refreshemts of coffee and donuts and clean up after fellowship hour ends. Hosts greet and welcome members and visitors who come to enjoy fellowship in between worship services.
